XtraTime Web Desk – The match between Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters finished 0-0 as both the teams were solid defensively.

The match was termed as ‘South Indian Derby’ and it did live up to its expectations. The match may have ended in a goalless draw but there were quite a few highlights from the game. Chennaiyin FC could have taken a lead in the 7th minute of the match itself but they failed to convert a sitter. Chennai kept pressurizing Kerala but their goalkeeper Albino Gomes were always ready. The only mistake was in the 18th minute when he gave away the ball in the penalty box while clearing. However his teammate, Bakary Kone made a brilliant tackle and prevented Rafael Crivellaro from a clear goal scoring opportunity. The first half ended 0-0.

The story was pretty much the same in the second half as Kerala was failing in to create any real threat for Chennaiyin. Their goalkeeper Albino Gomes was in top form and was denying all the shots from entering the goal line. Unfortunately for Kerala, Chennaiyin was given a penalty in the 74th minute. However, their goalkeeper was in top form today. Albino Gomes saved the penalty and gave Kerala Blasters a huge push. However, neither team could capitalize as the match ended 0-0.

Kerala now with 2 draws and a loss collected 2 points from 3 games. On the other hand, Chennaiyin has 4 points from 2 games.
