Change of date for Maradona’s arrival at Kolkata

Internet Desk: Legendary Argentine footballer Diego Armando Maradona’s arrival to “the City of Joy” Kolkata has been rescheduled to 2-4 October, organizers confirmed on Saturday.

Maradona, who will visit the football-crazy city for the second time was all set to face former India skipper Sourav Ganguly on September 19 in an exhibition match, titled ‘Match for Unity’. The match now will be held on the Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.

Maradona stated that,” To my fans who are eagerly awaiting me in kolkata, wanted to let you know that  I will now be coming on  2nd to 4th October 2017. Few higlights of my visit are   “Dhulaiwala Match for Unity”  against cricket icon Sourav Ganguly & football workshop at the Aditya school of sports, Barasat.Visit to Chetla Agrani And Sribhumi Sporting club Durga Pujas  for charitable activities, visiting the Fanattic sports museum and spending time with corporates and  getting Inducted “Ami Banglai Dheki  Swapno Hall of Fame 2017 chapter “. I will meet Cheif minister Ms Mamta Banerjee to celebrate the success of her Kanyashri project.”
