Kolkata: In the last few games of Mohun Bagan AC in the ongoing CFL 2017, the fans have witnessed unprecedented buzz and enthusiasm amongst the mariners which reached its peak during last game held on 27th August, 2017. Thousands of supporters couldn’t enter the ground as the match was sold out 3 hours before the commencement. Mohun Bagan management was deeply moved by seeing the footage of their supporters with pale face standing outside the ground, pleading police personnel to let them in which authority couldn’t do as there was not even a place inside to stand in.
In view of the above, Mohun bagan Executive Committee member Mr. Surajit Nandy & Mr. Somnath Ghosh have taken some innovative & never seen before initiatives under the guidance of our honourable AGS Mr. Srinjoy Bose & Finance Secretary Mr. Debasish Dutta. It has been decided to organize Giant Screening of their next match against Tollygunge Agragami on 3rd September, 2017 from 5 pm onwards at vicinity of Mohun Bagan ground where the entire place will be converted into a Mariners Fan Park. Live DJ will be played from 3 PM onwards to give it a look & feel of a grand football carnival not only inside the ground but outside also. This carnival has been titled as “Mariners’ Football Fiesta”, to be organised under the banner of Supporters of Mohun Bagan AC.
Mohun Bagan, the National Club of India which not only led the Indian Football from the front but also the progressive & innovative thinking of the country since ages. “Unity in Diversity” message given by the fans few days back was an idea which shook the nation and now this is one such arrangement which is again expected to be path breaking in Indian Football.
Further, 3rd September is the birthday of the Bagan legend Jose Ramirez Barreto and the fans have come to know that he will be in the city on that day. They will try to bring him again in their carnival, subject to his availability.
