Bumrah thanked skipper Virat Kohli for helping him to complete his hat-trick. Find why?

XtraTime Web Desk: India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah took his life’s first international hat-trick against West Indies on day 2 of the second Test in Jamaica on Saturday. Ahead of the start of day 3 Bumrah talked with former Windies pacer Ian Bishop where he talked about his performance and how he always wanted to play Test cricket at his young age.

“I always wanted to play the Test cricket. Whenever I achieve something from Test cricket it gives me a lot of satisfaction. You have to work really hard, each and every wicket is very valuable to me. Achieve something in test cricket is a great feeling.

On being asked who inspired him to become a fast bowler, Bumrah replied,” I used to watch lot of test cricket in television. I used to follow every game and every fast bowlers from any team. I loved to watch fast bowlers bowling well and that also excited me a lot.”

Bumrah bowled brilliantly for India in overseas tours. He also feels happy to bowl well in overseas conditions.

“Very happy I made my test debut in South Africa then we went to England a complete different situation. Adopting a different condition is been utmost important for me. I look to take challenges so if we play in Indian conditions the situation will be different. The ball will reverse. I love to take challenge. All those challenge motivates me,” added Bumrah.

Part of the credit for Bumrah’s hat-trick go to skipper Kohli, who insisted on a review after Roston Chase, his third victim, was initially given not out by the on-field umpire Paul Reiffel.

The review was correct as Bumrah became only the third Indian to claim a hat-trick in Test cricket.

“Actually I didn’t know, I was not very sure of the appeal, I thought it was bat so I didn’t appeal so much, but it was a good review in the end. So, I think, I owe that hat-trick to the captain,” Bumrah said as Kohli held the mic for ‘BCCI TV’ during an interaction.
