Bumrah takes a five-for, India just one wicket away to win the third test

XtraTime Web Desk: The World No.1 India test team is just 1 wicket away to win the third test against England in Nottingham. They are in this position thanks to a brilliant five-for on day 4 by Jasprit Bumrah who has made a return to the Indian team in this test from a thumb injury. The Men in Blue will now look to seal the game in the first hour on day 5.




Earlier at one stage England were tottering at 62 for 4 in the second innings while chasing a mammoth of a total of 521 runs to win. Then came Jos Buttler and star all-rounder Ben Stokes together. They shared a partnership of 169 runs for the 5th wicket t frustrate the Indian bowling for almost four hours of day’s play.




Buttler scored his maiden ton before getting out to Bumrah. At one stage England didn’t lose any wicket in between lunch and tea. But after the 80th over the second new ball changed everything as Bumrah took back to back wickets of Buttler and Jonny Bairstow to get India back into the game. Last match centurion Chris Woakes too didn’t understand his bouncer and gave an easy catch to Rishabh Pant on just 4. Ben Stokes who was holding the other end got out too on 62 as he faced to understand a quick one from Hardik Pandya and gave a catch to KL Rahul at slips. At the end of day’s play Adil Rashid is at the crease on 30 along with James Anderson who batting on 8.
