XtraTime Web Desk: Team India received a huge blow ahead of the test series against South Africa. Ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the test squad due to a minor stress fracture in his lower back. Umesh Yadav has been named as a replacement by the senior selection committee.

The injury was detected during a routine radiological screening. He will now undergo rehabilitation at NCA and will be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team. Bumrah was recently at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore along with the other test team members during the 3rd and final T20I against Proteas.

Bumrah has been suggested to take rest as in this case immediate surgery is not needed. With a packed season ahead leading up to the T20 World Cup next year in Australia, the selectors do not want to risk him playing the test series against the visiting South African team.
