Internet Desk : Ex-Mohun Bagan player Douglas has registered a complaint with the FIFA against Mohun Bagan officials over non-payments of dues. The Brazilian was at the helm of the Mohun Bagan Sail Academy in Durgapur last season. He complained that Mohun Bagan have still not cleared his 5 months salary.

The Brazilian also claimed he tried to contact the academy officials but they did not bother to show any interest .” I have mailed academy in-charge Tapan Roy several times but have not received a single reply . Besides FIFA ,I have also sent a copy of the complaint to Mohun Bagan and AIFF”.

Douglas had a contract with Mohun Bagan academy for two years starting from 2014 . He was supposed to join the academy in September last year but due to his coaching course in Brazil he had to delay his arrival to India .

“I was late in coming to Kolkata since I was doing a coaching course from CBF . Mr Roy sent me the ticket for coming to India in September , but I did not have my visa then . I was also out of Sao Paolo at that time . But after getting my visa , I was told by Mr Roy that they have already appointed Ancheri as the academy coach in my place ”.

Douglas , who has an incredible record of not losing a derby playing for both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He maintained this record with his coaching stint too. Under the guidance of Douglas  Mohun Bagan defeated arch rivals East Bengal in the U-19 I-League last year.

Douglas claimed he had to spend a hefty amount in getting his visa to India . He further claimed all his equipments are lying with the academy .

However Tapan Roy has refuted Douglas’s claims. “We have  cleared all his dues. Even we have mailed him to get an update about his visa . Since , he was unable to get the visa on time , we had no other options but to appoint  Ancheri as the coach”.

Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra seemed clueless about the matter. “I am not aware of this matter. If something happens like this we will definitely look into the matter” he said.

Douglas further added,”Even after my earnest request they had not paid my income tax returns. I have to face huge financial crisis , as my bank accounts were closed in Brazil. I will never come to India for coaching. I will not spare the officials who have got me into this situation,” claiming he will see the end to it.
