Boult’s blast give Black caps a resounding 8 wickets victory in fourth ODI at Hamilton

Hamilton: New Zealand beat India by eight wickets in the fourth one-day international at Hamilton’s Sudden Park. Boult’s 10 overs on the trot at Seddon Park returned five wickets for 21 runs as India were remarkably rolled for 92 batting first. In reply, New Zealand made 93 runs in 14.4 overs and the series is now at 1-3. Boult captured his fifth ODI five-wicket haul by taking 5/21 off his 10 overs, swinging the ball viciously in the humid conditions.  Makeshift opener Henry Nicholls made an unbeaten 30 off 42 balls while Ross Taylor raced to 37 not out off 25 deliveries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets for the visitors.

Team India scored 92 runs

In the fourth ODI, India were all out for 92 runs in 30.5 overs. Two players out for duck among the Indians  Yuzwendra Chahal scored 18. For New Zealand, Trent Boult has taken 5 wickets for the fifth time in his career.  This is Team India’s second lowest score against New Zealand. Earlier, on August 10, 2010, the Indian team was all out for 88 runs in 29.3 overs against New Zealand in Dambulla.

New Zealand achieved the target of 212 balls first

New Zealand made a quick start to pursue the target. Opener Martin Guptill made 14 runs in three balls. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught the fourth ball in the hands of Hardik Pandya. Captain Ken Williamson, who scored more than 25 in the last three ODIs, has scored 11 runs this time. Bhuvneshwar caught him by wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. After that Henri Nicholas and Ross Taylor added an unbeaten 54 runs for the third wicket and New Zealand reached the target in 14.4 overs.

New Zealand beat India by a gap of eight wickets for the fourth time in ODIs. He won the second match against Team India by 8 wickets on home ground. Earlier, on 14 March 2009, Blackcaps defeated India by 8 wickets in Auckland. In addition, he had won on 8 June 1995 in Leeds (England) and in India on 8 November 1995 in Jamshedpur by 8 wickets.

 India’s debut started

In this match, New Zealand captain Ken Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl. The Indian team started to bat, it was a bad start. Both of his openers returned to the pavilion at 23 runs. India lost 8 wickets at just 55 runs. Series last match will be played at Wellington on 3rd February.
