XtraTime Web Desk: Blow for England ahead of facing India in the first ODI at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Thursday as their star batsman Alex Hales is out of the game due to side injury. Middlesex batsman David Malan has been called up as cover, with Hales set to be monitored by England on a game-by-game basis.




Hales has an amazing average at Trent Bridge in the limited overs format. He has two tons at this venue with an astonishing average of 88.20 in his last three games here. Hales also scored a 68-ball 99 against West Indies in his lone T20I in Nottingham in 2012.
