Xtra Time Web Desk: In a situation where India is struggling to battle COVID-19, with a shortage of oxygen plaguing the country, the Bharat Army, a dedicated fan group of the Indian Cricket team with over one lakh members have teamed up with the British Asian Trust to organize a fundraiser for oxygen concentrators.

The oxygen concentrators will be supplied specifically to the small towns and villages in India, and as of Sunday night, they have raised 21,881 pounds, which approximately sums up to 22.5 lakh rupees. This comes just about a week after the campaign, ‘Oxygen for India’, kicked off.

Bharat Army founder Rakesh Patel said that upon seeing the plight of the Indian people due to the second wave of COVID-19, they decided to initiate the process of raising funds with the help of their global community. When asked about how they planned to help the needy, Patel said that they were using local vendors on the ground to ensure that the Oxygen reached the rural villages. This is yet another commendable example of the cricketing community at large coming together to help India in its time of need.
