Internet Desk: East Bengal’s French midfielder Bernard Mendy flew away to Delhi On Monday morning to solve his passport issues. Mendy has informed coach Biswajit Bhattacharya a day before that he will be flying away to Delhi to sort out his passport issue. Although Mendy attended the practice session on Monday morning he left the club at 9:30 am and drove straight to the airport.. He is expected to return on Monday night.

However some club sources are denying the fact that Mendy has flown to Delhi to sort out his passport issue. Rather they are claiming that Mendy has visited Delhi to meet his friend.

On Monday, East Bengal began their training after a gap of 4 days. East Bengal defeated Shilong Lajong 4-0 in their last match. Midfielder Sehnaj Singh began training with the team after getting injured in the quadriceps muscle in the first match against Sporting Clube de Goa at Fatorda Stadium. East Bengal today played a practice match amongst themselves at the club ground and Sehnaj played the full 90 minutes today. Although Biswajit Bhattacharya has not decided yet to include Sehnaj or not in the starting xi against Salgaocar on 21st February at Barasat Stadium.

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan’s Haitian winger Sony Norde has injured his right ankle in the match against Bengaluru FC on last Saturday at the Kanteerava Stadium. Mohun Bagan defeated 10 men Bengaluru FC 2-0 with goals from Jeje and Sony. According To club sources, Sony’s injury is not serious and he will be available for Mohun Bagan’s upcoming home match against Shillong Lajong FC on Wednesday. Mohun Bagan too began training today at their club ground. Mohun Bagan players did a little warm-up session followed by ice bath.
