Internet Desk: Manoj Tiwary’s unbeaten Bengal side looks confident as they will face another heavyweight side Mumbai in a Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.

Skipper Manoj Tiwary said, “We have done well in the tournament so far and our only aim now is to focus on tomorrows match. Mumbai is always a good side. If we can beat them, it will boost our confidence level.”

Asked about any change in the team, he said, “It’s yet to decide. The final decision is still not taken. We will not look for any major change though.  The boys have done quite well in the last three matches.”

Bengal started well in all the matches and the batting doesn’t look a problem for the team, excepting the last match where the middle order didn’t bat well, “We are getting good starts in all the matches. Shreevats and Easwaran are getting runs. However, anything is possible in cricket, like the little collapse we had in the last match. But we have enough experienced players, who can play under pressure.  In the last match Sudip played an innings of maturity that brought us the win.”

Bengal’s bowling is not a matter of concern as Kanishk Seth took 4 wickets against Team Rajasthan and the others backed him well.

About the pitch, Manoj said, “I have not seen the wickets. But as I said earlier Chennai wickets usually support the spinners, as we have seen the other matches. Our spinners are doing well. It’s not a problem for us. But with Kanishk Seth playing some good cricket is adding value to our side.

On the other hand, Mumbai will also remain confident winning two matches out of three they played in the tournament so far.

“We will not get overconfident. We have won all three matches we have played till now. We will try to continue the winning run. But Mumbai is always a good side. We will try and stick to the basics when we take the field tomorrow. I hope things go in our favor,” Manoj concluded.
