Bengal emerged victorious in the first pre-season tournament against KSCA XI

Internet Desk: On the last day of Dr. K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament Bengal clinched victory against Karnataka State Cricket Association XI. Agniv Pan led the team batting line up towards an easy win. Also the other Bengal batsmen played good cricket to boost up the team ahead of Ranji Trophy.

On the last day Bengal had a target of 180runs having nine wickets in hand. Bengal skipper Pragyan Ojha was previously confident of a win. However, he asked the players not to get tensed on the final day.

It was Agniv Pan who made the win easier for Bengal. Today Bengal started their innings with opener Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sudip Chatterjee on the crease. After Abhimanyu went down scoring 43runs Agniv came to bat. He was on the crease till the match ended and scored a valuable 91 of 117runs.

Apart from Agniv, Writtick Chatterjee also played a vital role for Bengal. After Bengal lost Sudip Chatterjee and Pankaj Shaw within 90runs Writtick came down to bat and assisted Aginv to win the match. He scored 56 of 85balls.

After this win Today’s best player Agniv Pan said, “I had no pressure on my mind. I played keeping in mind that I must stay on the wicket. Keeping this strategy I played along with Writtick Chatterjee and the win came. This win will definitely boost up the team mentally prior to the Ranji Trophy”.

Today was the last day of the pre-season tournament for Bengal. In the final match they played very good through out the three days. In the first day they took ten wickets of KSCA by only 130runs. However, the first innings score of Bengal was not so good of only 209. In the second innings of KSCA Bengal bowlers bowled well at the first spell. However, due to the eighth wicket partnership of KSCA gave helped them reach 309. Bengal bowlers stumbled a little after leading bowler Ashoke Dinda got an injury and could not bowl the full spell.

Finally a winning this tournament Bengal kept themselves mentally ready for the Ranji Trophy. KSCA having eight senior players could not beat Bengal. In today’s match among KSCA bowlers only R G More got two wickets.
