Bengal captain Sudip Chatterjee shines on second day of KSCA invitational tournament

Internet Desk: After a moderate total posted by KSCA Colts, Bengal started struggling their first innings on the second day of Dr. K. Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament. Bengal is trying to get three points by chasing the first innings total of KSCA Colts depending on the shoulder of their captain Sudip Chatterjee.

Yesterday KSCA Colts managed to score 260/5  Today they added 57 more runs to complete their 1st innings. Bengal bowlers expected to hold their innings by 300, as this is a batting pitch at Alur Golden Oval.

After yesterday’s failure, Pragyan Ojha failed to grab a wicket too today. The newcomer for Bengal Ishan Porel maintained a good line and length which helped resulted in getting wickets. Yesterday he scalped wicket and he got four more wickets to complete his five wicket haul.

Ishan showed great maturity playing his 1st match for Bengal. This is commendable. We came back on the match due to Ishan”, praised captain Sudip Chatterjee. However, Ishan being very humble praised his coaches for this success. He said, “I would like to thank Sairaj Bahutule sir and Ranadeb Bose sir for this performance of mine.”

Coming down to bat Bengal captain Sudip Chatterjee excelled with an unbeaten 89 to help Bengal completed their day’s score by 230/4. Getting a good score Bengal captain said, “This is of joy to get into runs at the beginning of the season. But it is my best feelings that on the day when my family is receiving the best player of the year award, on the same day i got run for my team.”

However, the captain will be happy if they can manage to get three points out of the match. They will get the three points if they can get pass the 1st innings score of KSCA Colts. The captain said, “Our 1st target is to chase and get over the opponent’s 1st innings run. Then we will have the valuable three points. This will boost us morally in the first match of the season.”
