BCCI gives Shami a green signal to play for Bengal on two conditions

Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a green signal to Bengal on some conditions that they can get the service of star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami in Ranji Trophy game against Kerala which is set to begin from November 20. BCCI’s General Manager Saba Karim sent a confirmation mail about Shami’s availability to CAB on this matter on Friday morning.

The two conditions that are given by the board are they can only use Shami for 15 overs in each innings and the second one is Bengal physio Parthab Patel will have to send Shami’s fitness update to board’s Patrick Farhat in regular interval. Meanwhile Shami last played for Bengal against Services in the last season.

The Bengal cricket team needs a straight win against Kerala and that’s why the management is preparing a green to as they are getting the services of pace dup Mohammed Shami and Ashoke Dinda after a long gap. The Bengal brigade looked pumped up with Shami’s inclusion as well. The team will train at the Eden Gardens on Saturday and there is a high possibility of Shami’s presence there.

Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary too looked very much confident with Shami’s inclusion in the team,” We all know that Shami is the nation’s number one pace bowler and I think Shami doesn’t need 15 overs in an innings to destroy the opponent,” said Manoj.

On being asked is it okay that Bengal will get Shami’s service for only 15 overs due to BCCI’s decision, Manoj replied,” As I have stated earlier we know what board has told to us and we will follow their order as nation always comes first and the Indian team needs him fully fit in Australia.”
