Image Source: twitter[/caption] XtraTime Web Desk: La Liga champions Barcelona Football Club’s footballer paid a rich tribute to their mothers during a La Liga clash against Villarreal as they wore team’s jersey that had the name of their mothers on back of it. In Spain Mother’s day is celebrated on the first Sunday of May, whereas most other countries it is celebrated during the second Sunday of this month. The Catalan Club’s work made a lot of football fans happy and the fans lauded the initiative as well on social media.
Though it was not the first time that a sports team has paid such a tribute to women. Back in 2016, the Indian cricket team also wore the team jersey which had the name of their mothers during an ODI match against New Zealand.Kick off was preceded by a fitting tribute to mothers all over the world.
