Internet Desk : Bangladesh U19 cricketer Saleh Ahmed Shawon suffered a severe head injury today during the team’s practice session .  Shawon was struck on his head by a ball hit by batsman Saeed Sarkar . He immediately fell unconscious and was  rushed to the hospital . According to reports last received , he is still unconscious . However CT scan results have not yielded anything alarming.

The U19 Bangladesh team was sweating it out in the nets on Tuesday morning, preparing for the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup which will be held in Bangladesh  from 22 January to 14 February.

The youngster from Barisal had ran down the Afghanistan line-up with figures of 7.4-2-10-6, to guide his team to a four-wicket win in the U-19 Tri-series tournament which was held in India during November last year. Bangladesh Under-19 squad’s manager, Sajjad Ahmed said, “Shawon’s health has returned back to normal. He is well now. However he will be kept in the hospital till today evening.”
