This year's Asia Cup has been postponed to 2023 by ACC on Sunday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Sunday postponed this year’s Asia Cup 2021 to 2023 due to COVID-19. The ACC in a statement said that there is already an Asia Cup scheduled to take place in 2022. As a result, the 2021 edition of the tournament is postponed to 2023.

In a statement, the ACC Executive Board said, “The ACC Executive Board, in face of the risks and restrictions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, had made the difficult decision to postpone the Asia Cup 2020 to 2021.”

“It would therefore only be feasible for this edition of the tournament to be held in 2023 as there is already an Asia Cup in 2022. Dates for the same will be confirmed in due course,” it added.

Pakistan is likely to host the 2022 edition of the tournament, with Sri Lanka hosting in 2023
