Ashwin touches legendary Muttiah Muralitharan. Find out how?

XtraTime Web Desk: After a dominating show against West Indies & South Africa Indian bowlers continued their great show on Day one of the first Test against Bangladesh at the Holkar International Stadium in Indore. While the pacers dominated the first couple of hours of the game, ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday reached a rare feat and added another feather in his cap. Ashwin joined the legends like Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in an elite list as he became the third Indian bowler to scalp 250, or more, wickets on home soil. Ashwin is tenth bowler overall to achieve the milestone of picking up 250 wickets on home soil. Ashwin, playing his 42nd Test in India, became the joint-quickest to achieve the feat in home Tests alongside Sri Lanka bowler Muttiah Muralitharan.

The veteran spinner recently made a comeback to the Indian squad in the tour of West Indies but didn’t play a single game in the Carribean. However, the 33-year-old got a chance in the home series against South Africa and made an instant mark as he ended the series as India’s highest wicket-taker with 15 dismissals at an average of 24.18 under his belt.  Ashwin, in total, now has 358 wickets under his name and 250 scalps on home soil in the longest format of the game.
