He is likely to be out of action for six to eight weeks. On the other hand Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav are likely to miss the early stages of the tournament. Earlier it was confirmed that Kohli will miss the first few matches of IPL 2017 and KL Rahul will miss the entire tournament as he will undergo a surgery in London in a few days time. Now the injury list is keep growing, as some media house have reported that Ashwin and Murali Vijay are the latest inductees who may miss the tournament. The India opener has a shoulder injury for a long time. He missed the final Test against England in Chennai in the month of December and also the second test in Bengaluru. The spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja will need some much-needed rest as they had bowled over 4000 deliveries during India’s home Test season. Ashwin had scans in Mumbai after the Dharamsala Test against Australia and he will miss the entire season for Rising Pune Supergiant. World No. 1 Test bowler Ravindra Jadeja is expected to play in the later part of the tournament for Gujarat Lions’. KKR bowling spearhead Umesh Yadav will also miss the initial stages of the season after leading the Indian pace attack in 12 of the 13 home Test matches and he took 30 wickets in these matches.
