Xtra Time Web Desk: Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs is in talks with Antonio Conte for the post of the new manager of the club according to reports on Wednesday. Ryan Mason has been in charge as a caretaker manager ever since Jose Mourinho was sacked in April. The North London club has been targeting Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers but without any success. Even the efforts to bring back former Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino did not bear fruits. Pochettino left in November 2019 but is understood to be keen on a return to the team he led to the Champions League final. The problem with the Argentinian is his current club Paris Saint Germain is reluctant to leave him after less than one full season.

Now Tottenham are believed to have turned their attention to Conte, who left Inter after leading them to the Serie A title this season. The 51 year old coach has tasted success in Premier League as well, having coached Chelsea to Premier League title and FA Cup during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

If Conte takes the Tottenham job, it was reported he could be joined by Fabio Paratici in a director of football role, with the pair having previously worked together at Juventus.
