Internet Desk: Anil Kumble’s stint as the head coach of the Indian cricket team got off to an unpleasant start after he realised that he had left a personal belonging of his at Gatwick airport.

Kumble landed along with the rest of the Indian squad at St Kitts on Thursday for their scheduled four-Test tour of West Indies. It was after he reached Caribbean shores that he realised that his kit bag was missing among his luggage, according to a report.

British Airways (BA) later tweeted out through their official Twitter account owning up to their mistake albeit in a rather witty manner.

This is not the first time the British carrier mixed up the personal belongings of an Indian cricket legend. Sachin Tendulkar was left “Angry Disappointed and Frustrated” after BA failed to confirm a ticket of a family member, aside from tagging his luggage to a wrong destination.

The Indian cricket team are scheduled to play a two-day warm-up match against the WICB President’s XI in St Kitts on Saturday, which will be followed by three-day practice fixture on 14 July.

The first Test will start on 21 July at North Sound Antigua, with the next three matches scheduled to take place at Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad on 30 July, 9 August and 18 August respectively.

Virat Kohli will be resuming captaincy duties, with the Indian squad packed with regulars in Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, etc.
