Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India batter Ajinkya Rahane will be playing County Championship for Leicestershire next season. The county on Tuesday confirmed that Rahane will be playing for them in 2023 season. It will be the second stint in County cricket after he represented Hampshire in 2019.

Rahane will play eight matches in the County Championship. He will travel to England only after the completion of IPL 2023 season. Rahane was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2023.  The 34-year-old will also be available to play the entire One-Day Cup competition given he is currently out of favour with the national side.

"I'm really happy to be joining Leicestershire for the upcoming season," Rahane said. "I can't wait to play alongside my new teammates and explore the vibrant city of Leicester."
