Chennaiyin FC vs FC Goa is always a thrilling encounter. Their rivalry has given a lot of memories to football lovers and Saturday was the same. In the 12th minute mark, Jakub Sylvestr put the blues ahead after Dheeraj denied them early in the game. They couldn’t hold to that for long as FC Goa quickly countered and recieved a penalty in the 18th minute for a handball.

Igor Angulo fired and scored but referee called it to retake because some of the players crossed the line. However, even in the second attempt he scored and put Goa level in the 19th minute of the match.

Both the teams gave very little space to the opposition and thus the chances were not created. Chhangte got an opportunity in the 40th minute but even after 4-5 players present in the box, Chhangte decided to for glory and missed the target. Minutes later, Chennaiyin once again got a brilliant chance to score but this time Jakub’s shot hit the post to deny him.

Goa started the second half strong. Glen’s low shot was well handled by Vishal Kaith. It was Chennaiyin though who once again took the lead in the 60th minute after Chhangte scored for them.

Next 30 minutes was well contested. Just when Chennaiyin thought they secured all three points, Ishan Pandita scored and rescued a point for Goa. The super sub once again scored for the team and secured an important point for Goa as the match ended 2-2.

Chennaiyin would be very disappointed as their campaign came to an end with this result. They now have 18 points from 18 games and are 8th in the table while FC Goa are 3rd with 24 points from 17 games.
