Xtra Time Web Desk: A strike from David Williams in the 62nd minute saw ATK Mohun Bagan hold Bashundhara Kings 1-1 in the AFC Cup 2021 Group D match at Male on Wednesday. The draw ensured Roy Krishna and his boys end Group D on top and cruise into the next round. The Mariners will meet the winners of Group E- Ahal and winners of Group F- Nasaf.

The club from Bangladesh played rough football from the start inviting the refree to flash as many as five yellow cards and one red card in the first half. It was the Green and Maroon who got a golden opportunity to go ahead in the 17th minute as Liston Colaco missed a sitter. He was fed a perfect cross from David Williams. He had an open goal to score but he shot it wide.

Bashundhara Kings took the lead in the 27th minute through Fernandes. He scored with a powerful right footer inside the box that defeated Amrinder in the near post. The Mariners had some tensed moments as Robson and Fernandes looked threatening for the Kings. 

The Bangladesh club was reduced to 10 men at the stroke of half time as Sushanto Tripura was flashed a red card for a dangerous foul on Subhasish Bose. ATK Mohun Bagan took advantage of one man short as they kept pressing hard for the equalizer. Finally they did manage to score with Liston Colaco cutting in from the left and crossing it to David Williams at an open space. The Aussie striker kept his calm and placed he ball at the back of the net to score the all important equalizer.

ATK Mohun Bagan has won their opening two games in the 2021 AFC Cup, winning against both Bengaluru FC and Maziya R & SC.
