83′ the film: Know the actors who portrayed the players in Kapil Dev’s world beating side

Xtra Time Web Desk: The trailer of the much-anticipated film 83 was recently launched with bumper response. The film depicting the famous 1983 World Cup win by Kapil and his boys will hit the screens on December 24 across the country. The film directed by Kabir Khan stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Here is a sneak peek at all the actors who has portrayed the different players who defeated the mighty West Indies in the final at Lords on June 25, 1983.

Ranveer Singh – Kapil Dev

The star Bollywood actor is playing the role of Kapil Dev in the film 83. The multi-talented actor has made a name for himself in Bollywood industry. Since making his acting debut in 2010, Ranveer has played lead role in a number of blockbusters like Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gully Boy.

Tahir Bhasin – Sunil Gavaskar

Tahir Raj Bhasin is an Indian film actor born in Delhi. He holds a master’s degree in media from the University of Melbourne. Bhasin made his screen debut with Kismat Love Paisa Dilli (2012) and made brief appearances in Kai Po Che! (2013) and One by Two (2014), before making his official film debut with Mardaani (2014), which fetched him a Filmfare Award nomination for the Best Supporting Actor, and the Screen Award for the Best Antagonist. His latest film Chhichhore (2019) too was a blockbuster hit. Bhasin will be playing the character of Sunil Gavaskar in the film 83.

Amar ChoudaryKrishnamachari Srikant

Amar Choudary, known professionally as Jiiva is an actor and film producer working mainly in Tamil cinema. He began his career as a child actor in 1991 in films produced by his father. He made his debut as a lead actor in his father’s 50th production, Aasai Aasaiyai (2003).  Jiiva is the only Tamil actor after Shivaji Ganesan to have been awarded at the Cyprus International Film Festival, particularly for his performance in Raam (2005). He will be making his Bollywood debut with the film 83 (2021), in which he will be portraying cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth.

Haardy Sandhu – Madan Lal

Hardavinder Singh Sandhu populary known as Haardy Sandhu is an Indian singer, actor and former cricketer. His first song was Tequilla Shot, and he gained popularity with Soch (2013) and Joker (2014), which were written by Jaani and music composed by B Praak . Sandhu made his acting debut in Yaaran Da Katchup (2014). His song “Soch” was remade for the 2016 Bollywood film Airlift. Hardavinder, who is playing the character of Madan Lal has played cricket for over a decade as a fast bowler, but suffered a severe elbow injury, forcing him to give up the game in 2007. He was also part of the 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup Indian squad.

Sahil Khatter – Syed Kirmani

Sahil Khattar is an Indian YouTuber, television host and actor. He works with two YouTube channels, named Khattarnaak and Being Indian. In 2007, he became a radio jockey  before moving to mainstream TV with hosting television shows like Dance India Dance, India’s Raw Star and India’s Got Talent.He is also a sports enthusiast and has hosted sports events like Russia World Cup 2018 on Sony Ten 3 and live cricket show, India tour of England on Sony Liv. Sahil plays the role of Syed Kirmani.

Dhariya Karwa – Ravi Shastri

Dhairya Karwa is a Bollywood actor from Jaipur. His performance was noticed in the film Uri, which made the filmmakers in B Town approach for a few. Dhariya will be seen in the role of Ravi Shastri in the film 83.

Saqib Saleem Qureshi – Mohinder Amarnath

Saqib Saleem Qureshi is an actor and model who works in the Hindi film industry. He worked as a model before beginning his film career. After moving to Mumbai, Saleem appeared in several advertisements. While doing television commercials, he grew interest in films and started auditioning for film roles. Saleem made his acting debut with a leading role in the 2011 romantic comedy Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, a box-office success. He played a role in Karan Johar’s Bombay Talkies (2013) and his highest-grossing release came with the action thriller Race 3 (2018). He will be playing the character of Mohinder Amarnath.

Chriag Patil – Sandeep Patil

Chirag Patil is an actor who appeared in Hindi and Marathi films. He is best known for his role as Omkar in Vazandar (2016) directed by Sachin Kundalkar. Patil made his big screen debut with Raada Rox (2011), the film was directed by Rahul Thackeray and Heyramb S Khot. He made his Bollywood debut with Chargesheet (2011) directed by Dev Anand. He plays the role of his father Sandeep Patil in the upcoming movie 83.

Nishant Dahiya – Roger Binny

Nishant Dahiya is an Indian actor born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He moved to Mumbai and started modelling and appeared in a host of advertisements and was spotted by Yash Raj Films. His first film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge with YRF released in late 2011. Thereafter, he was seen in Titoo MBA(2014) and Meri Pyaari Bindu(2017). He is playing the role of Roger Binny in the film 83.

Jatin Sarna – Yashpal Sharma

Jatin Sarna is a film and theatre actor, best known for his work in Meeruthiya Gangsters, Saat UchakkeySonchiriyaDarbar and Sacred Games, an original Netflix series. Jatin is known for his work with several Bollywood film directors such as Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, AR Murugadoss, Hansal Mehta, Abhishek Chaubey and Kabir Khan. Jatin will be seen portraying the role of late Yashpal Sharma in the film 83.

Adinath Kothare – Dilip Vengsarkar

Adinath Kothare is an Indian actor, producer and director, who predominantly works in Marathi films. His directorial debut film ‘Paani’ won the national award for ‘National Film Award for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation’ at the 66th National Film Awards and has also won him the ‘Best Actor’ award at the New York Indian Film Festival. He made his acting debut as a child actor in the 1994 hit film ‘Majha Chakula’ which garnered him several accolades, including the Maharashtra State Film Awards for ‘Best Child Actor’. Later he tasted success with films like ‘Zapatlela 2’ (2013) and ‘Avatarachi Goshta’ (2014) which were highly appreciated at the box office. Adinath will be playing the role of Dilip Vengsarkar.

Dinker Sharma – Kirti Azad

Dinker Sharma is a film actor, hailing from Mumbai. He has has acted in various movies including “Praner Manush” which was a short film directed by Aritra Sarkar. He gained a lot of fame and huge acclaim for his outstanding performances during his career life. In 2019, he made his debut web series “Delhi Crime” which was based on a reality-based incident. After this performance in the web series. He will be playing the role of Kirti Azad in the film 83.

Ammy Virk – Balwinder Sandhu

Amninderpal Singh Virk, better known as Ammy Virk, is an Indian singer, actor and producer who works in Punjabi and Hindi films. He is best known for playing the role of Nikka in Nikka Zaildar series, Shivjit in Qismat  and Haakam in Angrej. His role of Hakam fetched him Best Debut Actor Award at PTC Punjabi Film Awards.   He had also starred in other films including Bambukat, Ardaas, Nikka Zaildar, Laung Laachi and Qismat. He will be playing the role of Balwinder Sandhu.

R Badree – Sunil Walson

R Badree is an actor and model who hails from Chennai. He is more active in south Indian films. After completing his his graduation in acting from Pune he headed to Mumbai to try his luck in films. He started his career in South Indian film called Nandigramer Chokher Pani released in 2014. He also acted in the film Line of Descent which was released in 2019.
