10-men FC Goa held Kerala Blasters to a 1-1 draw

XtraTime Web Desk – After 90 minutes of competitive football, the match between Kerala Blasters and FC Goa ended 1-1.

Goa started well. Their forward Jorge Ortiz hit the post early in the match after a brilliant build-up. The goal could’ve given them an early lead in the match. They however didn’t wait long for the breakthrough.

Jorge Ortiz did give them the lead in the 25th minute. His free-kick went straight inside the post after Kerala Blasters’ goalkeeper made a mistake to judge the direction of the shot.

Blasters pulled one back in the 40th minute but the referee ruled it out after it hit Kone’s hand during the buildup. The half ended 1-0 in favour of the Gaurs.

In the second half, Kone once again came close to score an equaliser but his head went wide. Rahul KP finally scored the equaliser in the 57th minute to bring Kerala into level terms.

Ivan Gonzalez was sent off in the 66th minute after 2 back to back yellow cards. After Goa was down to 10-men, Kerala Blasters pushed hard but they failed to find the winning goal as Kerala Blasters and FC Goa finished 1-1.

Kerala Blasters moved to 7th after the draw. They have 14 points from 13 games. FC Goa are 3rd in the table with 20 points from 13 games.
