Wriddhiman Saha to miss the Afghanistan Test?

Kolkata: There is a possibility of the unavailability of Indian cricket team’s star wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha in the one of Test match against Afghanistan starting from June 14 as he has suffered an injury during the ongoing Indian Premier League. This is not the first time that Wriddhi has suffered an injury. Earlier during the South Africa tour he had to come back home midway for the same reason.

This time Saha got the injury during SunRisers Hyderabad’s playoff game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens a couple of days back. He sustained an injury on his right thumb while batting. He had this injury for a long time and due to that reason he also didn’t feature in a few games for SRH as well.

After getting a bit fit ahead of the KKR game he decided to play the game as it was a do or die match for SRH but unfortunately he again got an injury on the same place. He didn’t play in today’s final as well for the same reason.

Wriddhiman has played 11 matches so far in this season’s IPL and scored 122 runs, beside that he has taken 5 catches and did 1 stumping as well.

Tomorrow he will go to Mumbai for further treatment but it will be a definite question that whether he would be fully fit ahead of the Afghanistan game.
