Image Source: twitter[/caption] Internet Desk: It was a moment of glory for 26 year old Keshav Maharaj when he got Australian captain Steve Smith leg before on the second day of the first test at WACA. It was the first test wicket for the left arm spinner. The Indian origin spinner from Durban added two more wickets to his kitty to return with a figures of 3/56 in the first innings. It was a dream debut for Maharaj as he along with Vernon Philander bowled South Africa to a strong position at stumps on Day 2. More than Keshav, his father Athmanand will be happier to see his son finally break into the test arena. The senior Maharaj, himself a cricketer during the days of aparthied could not break into the big league due to the colour of his skin. His son has now fulfilled a dream. Keshav, who is a product of South Africa’s socio-political system, is the by-product of Cricket South Africa’s increasing effort to strike a balance between black and white. Another interesting fact about Keshav is his fondness for cooking. In fact he has his own food blog and used to talk on food on local radio channels in South Africa. The 26 year old also went to Shaun Pollock’s alma mater, Northwood School. One would hope that Keshav brings more glories for South Africa like his illustrious senior.
