East Bengal defeated a well organized United Sikkim side by 2-0 as Captain Jiten Murmu and Nigerian forward Adileja scored for the Red & Gold brigade. The match was full of incidents as the second half resumed fifteen minutes late as a portion of flood light went off for a long time. The match commissioner waited till all the lights started working. Though the East Bengal coach Ranjan Chowdhury said,"Yes the light created an impediment but eventually it didn't affect the boys as they knew their task." Bhaichung Bhutia  was present in the ground to watch United Sikkim play and at the end of the game came to meet the East Bengal players and congratulated them for the success. The East Bengal coach too was happy with the way his young team played today. The first half ended goalless as both the teams were circumspect on their approach. East Bengal dominated the second half as academy footballer Yami played some amazing football. East Bengal scored their opening goal in the 74th minute as Captain Jiten Murmu scored from a Nikhil Poojary assist. Nigerian Adileja maintained his goal-scoring streak as he capitalized a great pass from youngster Yami in 86th minute to confirm East Bengal's place in the last four. Adileja now has 3 goals in his last three games in Red & Gold jersey. The East Bengal coach lauded his team as he said,"All the players of my team are captains.
