La Liga games could be called off due to late-summer heat wave - Tebas
Internet Desk : Spanish Football League (LFP) president Javier Tebas has not ruled out La Liga matches being postponed this weekend because of extreme hot weather.
A late summer heatwave has hit the Iberian Peninsula, with temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius in many areas on some days.
Mid-afternoon games, which include Celta Vigo vs. Atletico Madrid and Osasuna visiting Real Madrid on Saturday, are most at risk.
“The problem has been that, in the evenings, the temperature hasn’t dropped much.
“We have spoken to the referees’ committee to make sure the players can drink water to cope with the conditions.”
"If the temperature reaches 40 degrees we could postpone some La Liga games," Tebas told Cadena Cope..
