Pic www.playsweb.com[/caption] Internet Desk: Blow after blow for Russia. This time the Russian sports persons have been banned for the 2018 Paralympics by the International Paralympic Committee. The International Paralympic Committee already declared of the ban on Russian athletes for 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea’s Pyeongchang. Russian Paralympics Committee appealed against the ban to Court of Arbitration for Sports. Today CAS rulled out the appeal of the RPC. It supported the theory of state-sponsored sports doping scandal. The RPC declared the verdict of CAS through their website saying, “The decision taken by the IPC, upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding Russian Paralympians being excluded from the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, has also been extended to include the Winter Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang.” Russia have appealed against the CAS ruling to the Swiss Federal Court and a result is expected later on Monday or on Tuesday. The Federal Court can only overturn the CAS decision on the basis of a procedural mistake and not on the merits of the case. Russian Sports minister said back, “The ruling falls out of the legal framework: it is more political than judicial. There were no grounds to reject [the appeal]; but that’s what happened”.
