Rahul Bheke (18') opened the scoring for the Red and Gold brigade while Arnab Mondal (30') extended the tally to help them win 2-0. Today East Bengal started off  in a good pace. At the beginning of the game they started hammering on the penalty box of Peerless. The face of the goal opened in the 18th minute when defender Rahul Bheke scored through a header from a corner of Mehtab. East Bengal also kept on attacking on Peerless SC weak defense. In 30th minute another defender Arnab Mondal scored from another corner kick. Till the end of the first half East Bengal had much possession on ball than the opponent. However, they failed to advance their score by missing a penalty. It was Do Dong Hyun whose unfortunate shot was by opponent goalkeeper Shankar Roy. Shankar played really good to save the goal and also all over the match. But the scenario of second half changed a lot when Peerless started attacking. In the second half the Rahim Nabi led team were much faster and hungry. Seemingly East Bengal lost control over the ball following the abrupt change of pace by the opponent team. They started miss passing. East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan was also upset with the fall of performance. He said, “The 2-0 goalline made the game much closer. After the first half we became slower in second half.” East Bengal made a change in the team today by playing Adelaja as the striker. The newcomer of the club today missed several chances. Once he hit a ball at the bar. Striker Jiten Murmu missed chances too. However, coach Morgan is not at all bothered of the goal miss. At first he said, “We missed two times in one on one condition. We missed a penalty also.” However, later he said, “Players missing chances is not important. They played good and united for the team. That is important.” In the second half coach made two experiments by playing two defenders Calum Angus and Robert as mid-fielders. In answer of making such decision he said, “We needed to support the forward. So I used the defenders to support the strikers.” Today the pace of East Bengal was stuck by the Peerless captain Rahim Nabi as well as defender Ugochukwu. From their team apart from the captain, Sukhwinder Singh also made some good attempts to score.
