The British coach touched down in Kolkata at 10:36pm local time by a Singapore Airlines flight. He was greeted at the airport by a group of members from a fan club amidst loud cheers. Mr Morgan, who will be coaching the East Bengal footballers from the forthcoming Federation Cup was reminded  by his fans that he has always been lucky with the said tournament. “I am surprised to see such a large turnout to receive me. It does show that the East Bengal fans still love me. Thanks for reminding me that I have always been lucky with the Federation Cup.” Morgan spotted a bright smile and did not look tired at all. On being asked whether it will be difficult to get along the footballers in such a short time, “I have coached most of the players in the current team. And there are a few guys who I have coached in ISL. So getting along with this group will not be a problem.” Morgan has been following the East Bengal footballers in action on YouTube back in Australia. “I have been following their performance on You Tube. I was keeping myself updated about the I League.” The British coach will be travelling to Shillong to watch the footballer’s performance in the last match of I League against Shillong Lajong. For the time being he has no intentions to interfere with the current coaching staff. “I will be travelling to Shillong to watch the footballers play the last I League match. I will take the charge of the team after I return from Shillong. Till that time I am happy with the support staff whoever is working with the team at present.” Morgan will replace Biswajit Bhattacharya who resigned as the chief coach after failing to give the club success in I League.
