The talented off spinner grabbed six wickets without giving any run in the pre quarter final championship match of 1st Div. league organized by Cricket Association of Bengal. Writtick, who was bowling for Bhawanipore saw the back of six Md. Sporting batsmen as they got bundled out for an embarrassing 37 runs. His spell read 2.2-2-0-6. Out of the six wickets that he got, four were bowled while the remaining two were caught behind and leg before respectively. Bhawanipore entered the quarter finals by defeating Md Sporting by 253 runs. The promising bowler who was part of the Bengal team that reached the semi finals of Ranji Trophy beating Tamil Nadu in Tamil Nadu couple of seasons back could not control his emotions after the match.” I could not believe it myself. I was giving a standing ovation by my team mates as I walked off the ground.” Writtick, whose career was in a mess as he was called for a suspect bowling action in a U’23 BCCI match credited his club coach Abdul Monayem for the turnaround. The 23 year old was sent to NCA to get his action corrected. According to Abdul Monayem, “The best part of Writtick was his self belief and confidence. He assured me yesterday that he will lead the team to the quarters, and he did it accordingly. I have not seen any spinner in Bengal apart from Utpal Chatterjee who bowled with such control. I feel he should be given more opportunities for Bengal.” Writtick, who idolizes Graeme Swann aims at carrying on the good work and claw his way back into the Bengal senior team.
