It was expected following  a lackluster performance from the Pakistan team in the tournament. However, the 36-year-old all-rounder has made it clear that he wants to continue playing for the country. According to a report , Afridi said he intends to continue playing "for my country and league cricket". Afridi had earlier made his intention to retire from international cricket after the end of the coveted tourney. The attacking all-rounder also made it clear that the decision of quitting the captaincy is entirely his own and has not been influenced by anyone.But later he made a U-turn saying that he was facing "huge pressure" from family and friends to not retire from international cricket. According to sources Sarfaraz Ahmed is being tipped to take over the mantle of T20 captaincy of Pakistan.
