Image Source: File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: World No.1 doubles team Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza’s 41-match winning streak came to an end as they succumbed to Russia's Elena Vesnina and Daria Kasatkina 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 in the quarterfinals of Qatar Total Open, here on Thursday. The Indo Swiss pair had last lost in Cincinnati in last August. The pair has been in magnificent form throughout the year and won three Grand Slams in a row. Their winning streak had started at the US Open. They won nine back to back titles including the China Open, the BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore , Apia International Sydney, Australian Open and recently St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy - where they defeated Vesnina and Kasatkina in straight sets in the quarterfinals. Had they managed to won this title in Doha, Hingis and Mirza would have come close to matching Jana Novotna and Natasha Zvereva’s longest winning streak of 44 wins since 1990. However the longest women’s double winning streak of 109 matches is held by Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver.
