Image Source: Mohun Bagan[/caption] Kolkata: Mohun Bagan organised the Grassroots Football Festival on 13th May 2017 at the Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Ground amidst much fanfare and a carnival-like atmosphere, to commemorate AFC Grassroots Day among the grassroots players. A large number of boys of 8 to 14 years of age groups were the participant of the festival. The event kicked off at 7 a.m. at Club ground. Mohun Bagan A and B team of U-14 played against Mohun Bagan A and B team of U-12 .Beside the above U-8 and U-10 boys were engaged in the various fun drills and games, which were divided into eight stations of activity, by Mohun Bagan Youth Coaches .The aim of the festival was primarily to create interest among the kids for this beautiful sport and also to provide them the right platform to display their talents. The eventful Saturday witnessed of almost 250 junior participants, who will be the future of Bengal as well as for Indian football. The festival was conducted and supervised by the Youth Development Department of Mohun Bagan. Mr. Yan Law,  AIFF Development Officer was present in this event. He  quoted -“I am delight to see a large number of kids are showing their interest in Football.” He also appreciated Mohun Bagan for their initiative to celebrate this kind of an event to promote and develop the game of football in Grassroots.
