The former left-fullback who represented the Indian National team from 1981 to 1994 survived from an accident which could have easily had worse consequences. The defender who represented Mohammedan Sporting, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan with a lot of fame and popularity for decades and also managed the Kolkata giants with a lot of success, was crossing from Harish Mukherjee road, Sangam More and his motorbike skidded through the road and he rolled out completely on the other end. Fortunately, the signal became green immediately and he survived from something worse. Though he had some scratches and cuts on his shoulder and in his hands. His knee too got a serious blow. Alok said to www.xtratime.in , "There was some mobil on the road. I couldn't notice that and got skidded through the road in a horrible fashion. I was lucky that the signal became green immediately. Otherwise the onrushing vehicles could have easily run me over." He added, "I had some scratches on my hands and shoulders. But my knee got a deep cut and a serious blow. Thanks to the Almighty that it was not that fatal." The coach is adressed to take seven more days' rest from now on to recover from the injury.
