Santosh Trophy: Bengal emerge as group champions with a 2-0 win over Odihsa

File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: Bengal cruised past Odihsa 2-0 to emerge as the group champions of Santosh Trophy East Zone group. The side coached by Mridul Banerjee had earlier won their first match against Chattisgarh. Bengal will now play the knock out stage matches in Meghalaya or Shillong in March. Bengal started on a confident note against Odhisa on Monday at Bokaro. Both the sides got opportunities to take the lead but failed to score. After a goalless first half, Bengal did manage to take the lead in the 72nd minute through Manoj Chakladar. He headed the ball home from a centre by Prahlad Roy. Jiten Murmu extended the lead for Bengal in the 77th minute. He scored the goal from a solo effort. It was also the second goal for Murmu from as many matches. The Bengal team will be arriving in Howrah tomorrow afternoon.
