File Pic[/caption] Internet Desk: For the first time in 89 years of BCCI history for the first time a President and secretary still in office sacked by the Supreme Court today. The supreme court today ordered President Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke to stand down immediately from their posts. The decision of the apex court has been termed as historic by ex-BCCI President 91 year old B.N.Dutt (from 1988-1990). Talking from his residence in Kolkata Dutt said,"This is an historic judgement and in its purview not only cricket but all sports were defending corruption is one of the main issue this judgement will stand as an example. The right thing has been done at the right time." Dutt who was instrumental in introducing another Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya to BCCI administration as treasurer in 1977 when he was the secretary also said,"Not only in cricket wherever a person has stayed in power for more than 4 to 5 years he has tend to manipulate the position to stay for longer period. In doing so a person in an autonomous body changes the laws and there is a chance of misusing his post and corruption is likely." Regarding the sacking of current BCCI President and secretary he said,"well I won't say this is shameful but when it was stated by court appointed Lodha committee and Supreme Court itself it would have been wise to step down immediately, but whatever has happened it has happened for good and this will have far-reaching consequences." Not mentioning the cricketers name Mr Dutt revealed a tussel with Supreme Court judge during his tenure as Board President. During that tour a bunch of Indian cricketers after playing in the West Indies tour went to play in USA without Board's permission. Dutt suspended the players immediately citing show cause notice. Then a Supreme court judge passed an obiter dictum in favor of the players. The ex-President said,"After the obiter dictum by a judge I didn't fight with the court and acknowledged it and withdrew my decision. Likewise the people in office should have implemented the Lodha reforms earlier and thus this humiliation could have been avoided."
