File Picture[/caption] Internet Desk:Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has requested both India and Pakistan to maintain peace and say no to war as tensions between the two countries continue to rise after the recent surgical strikes by the Border Security Force along the LoC. Afridi shared his views on Twitter and said  Pakistan is a peace loving nation and “wants cordial relations with everyone.” He added that there is no need to take extreme measures when things can be resolved with dialogues between each other. “When two neighbours fight, both homes are affected” He added. The Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on Thursday night along the border in Pakistan and destroyed five terror launch pads across border using helicopters and ground forces. In  a press conference, DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said India inflicted “significant casualties” on terrorists and those who were trying to support them. Many Indian leaders from various parties have since hailed the Army for successfully executing surgical strikes and backed the Modi government’s decision. The surgical strikes are in response to the Uri attack. On September 18, four militants attacked the Indian Army and killed 19 army jawans in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri in the head office of an Indian Army infantry installation. The attackers are believed to have come from Pakistan. Since then, India has upped its diplomatic offensive against Pakistan in a bid to isolate the country internationally.
