Xtra Time Web Desk: Star India batter Virat Kohli hogged the limelight during the optional practice session of Indian cricket team at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, October 26. Kohli was seen rolling his arms in the nets. He was seen bowling to Indian captain Rohit Sharma. With Hardik Pandya out with injury, it goes to be seen if Kohli can squeeze out a couple of overs.

Virat with his medium pace can turn out to be the man with golden arm. In the game against Bangladesh in Pune on October 22, when Hardik had to limp off the ground after bowling just three balls, Virat was called upon to finish the over.

The 34-year-old looked quite impressive as he bowled to Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, hinting at him being the possible option as the 6th bowler for the Men in Blue in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who has suffered a grade 1 ligament tear in his ankle against Bangladesh.

The Indian team management included Mohammed Shami in the playing XI against New Zealand at Dharamshala on October 22. The pacer justified his selection by taking five-wickets in the game. It goes to be seen if he retains his place in the playing XI against England. With the wicket at the Ekana stadium offering help to the spinners, inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin cannot be ruled out.
