Xtra Time Web Desk: Newly appointed selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar along with other selectors announced the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies. Hardik Pandya was appointed as the captain for the series, a significant responsibility for the talented all-rounder. This decision indicates a possible shift in leadership roles within the team.

The squad also witnessed the inclusion of two promising young talents from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, both received their maiden call-ups to the national side. Their impressive performances in the IPL must have caught the attention of the selectors, who are keen to inject fresh blood into the team.

However, there were a few surprises as well. Rinku Singh and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had been performing well in domestic cricket and had previous international experience, were left out of the squad. This decision might raise eyebrows among their fans and cricket pundits.
