Tokyo Olympics: US gymnast Simone Biles wins bronze in beam final after mental health battle
Xtra Time Web Desk: Superstar US gymnast Simone Biles made a memorable return to the Tokyo Games on Tuesday by claiming bronze in the beam final at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Simone pulled herself out of several competitions at Tokyo 2020 in order to focus on her mental health. It was the US superstar's first taste of competition in Tokyo since dramatically standing down during the women's team final last week.
Simone finished behind gold medalist Guan Chenchen and silver medalist Tang Xijing both of China.
It was Biles' seventh Olympic medal, equalling Shannon Miller's record for an American gymnast.The four-time gold medallist from the Rio Games received a huge cheer from her US teammates when she entered the arena.
