Subhabrata Mukherjee :- On Friday night Chepauk Wicket seemed very much lucky for Punjab Kings franchise who were struggling big time in the ongoing Indian Premier League ( IPL 2021). Up against the defending champion Mumbai Indians, Punjab cricketers brought in their 'A' game into the match and literally decimated the Mumbai bowling to register a thumping 9 wicket win over Rohit's men. Rahul, Mayank and Gayle shone with the bat while Shami was brilliant with the ball as Punjab registered a comfortable win. Now take a look at what we think is the 5 talking points from the match.




Rohit' brilliance with the bat :-


On a Chennai wicket where every batsman from Mumbai struggled with timing Rohit seemed to bat on a different track all together. He scored 63 runs from 52 balls adding some respectibility to Mumbai total.



Suryakumar Yadav's supporting role with the bat :-


Mumbai lost Quinton de Kock (3) and Ishan Kishan (6) early. If they would have lost another wicket at that time it would have been an impossible task for Mumbai to make a comeback. Suryakumar stiched a 79 run partnership with Rohit and scores 33 runs to ensure that Mumbai innings didn't collapse.




Shami's brilliance with the ball :-



Star India pacer Md. Shami came back to form with the ball in his hand. He bowled in good areas today and made life difficult for batters. His figures read 4-0-21-2.



Rahul steered his team to comfortable win :

Punjab captain Rahul is in good form with the bat throughout the tournament till now. Today he remained not out on 60 from just 52 balls to ensure his sides' comfortable win.



∆ 'Universe Boss' Gayle played patiently :-



Chris Gayle today played sensibly while batting. He didn't go for any unnecessary shot that could put him and his team in danger. He played a patient knock of 43 not out from 35 balls to steer his side to victory.
