XtraTime Web Desk - After a superb display of batting and bowling, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar joined Ravichandran Ashwin and T Natarajan for a quick chat at BCCI TV.

Shardul Thakur hit his 50 with a brilliant strike of Nathan Lyon's bowl. Washington explained how he felt from the non-striker's end. “I knew it was coming. He was trying for a six against Lyon for sometime. He was also very eager to get to his half-century and I definitely know it was coming”.

Shardul Thakur was brilliant with his cover drives on Sunday. He looked like a proper batsman while playing those shots. When asked about those shots, Shardul said, “Honestly, I haven't practiced those but it was one of the days where I was batting really well and didn't want to miss any opportunity. Any loose ball, I felt like putting it away”.

Washington had a dream debut as of now. Picked up 3 wickets and then scored a half-century. Ashwin sarcastically asked whether test cricket has been easy for him or not to which Washington said, “Not at all. Test cricket is definetly the toughest format and I'm very happy and fortunate that I could start off in this fashion. It's god's grace and with a lot of support from my family, I'm able to do this and very very fortunate”.

Natarajan revealed his plans as he said that he didn't try to many combinations and just bowled from around the stumps cause the team plan was to come from around the stumps.

Shardul made a comeback to test cricket and picked up Marcus Harris' wicket in his first delivery. Speaking about that, Shardul said, “It wasn't easy to bowl those 10 balls and get injured and then grind it out in domestic cricket or whatever opportunities I got and then waiting for two years to make this comeback and getting the wicket on my very first delivery, it's like a dream come true. We were looking for a wicket at that of time and am happy to contribute in team's cause”.
