XtraTime Web Desk - Controversy started on the very first day of the Boxing Day test! In the 55th over, Rishabh Pant run-out Tim Paine when Pant broke the stumps as the later seemed to be outside of his crease.

The on field umpires weren't sure thus asked the TV umpire to review it. Even though Tim Paine's bat didn't cross the safe line, umpire gave him not out and that's where the controversy began.

According to the rules, a certain portion of the bat has to cross the line to be called not-out but Paine had nothing. Australian legend, Shane Warne is very surprised because of this. He said, “Very surprised that Tim Paine survived that run out review! I had him on his bike & thought there was no part of his bat behind the line! Should have been out in my opinion”.

Not just the former leg spinner, a lot of people on social media are questioning this decision from the third umpire. However, India didn't suffer much as Tim Paine was dismissed at 13 as Australia were bowled out for 195.

Even with so much of technology, the standard of umpiring has been poor. Now, it's time to see whether team India faces any kind of controversial decision in the second innings or not!
