XtraTime Web Desk: In a bizarre incident Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday suspended team doctor Madhu Thottappillil for tweeting on the death of 20 Indian soldiers who died in the clash with Chinese Troops in Eastern Ladakh.

Thottappillil tweeted about the Jawans who lost their lives and mentioned PMCares. The Sports Medicine Specialist also has a cover picture on his official twitter handle which read ‘We salute you soldiers’. He later deleted the tweet.

The Chennai based franchise suspended Thottappillil with immediate effect. The franchise in a tweet on said that the tweet by the doctor had been made in personal capacity and that he had been suspended from the team.
“The Chennai Super Kings Management was not aware of the personal tweet of Dr. Madhu Thottappillil. He has been suspended from his position as the Team Doctor,” the statement read.

“Chennai Super Kings regrets his tweet which was without the knowledge of the Management and in bad taste,” it added.

Thottappillil has been with the team since the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 and is a specialist in sports medicine.
