IPL 2019: Imran Tahir creates a new record at the age of 40
XtraTime Web Desk: Veteran South African leg spinner Imran Tahir not only grabbed the purple cap on the stage of IPL 2019 final by taking two wickets against Mumbai and taking his tally to 26 wickets in 17 matches but also became the oldest bower to grab the cap at the age of 40. Ahead of the beginning of IPL many started saying that age can be an obstacle for Chennai Super Kings but CSK proved everyone wrong by reaching the final and one of the key reasons for their success is Tahir. In the middle overs he gave break troughs to CSK whenever they needed the wickets. Today again against Mumbai wickets of Mumbai’s last match hero Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan to take the purple cap from his countryman Kagiso Rabada who took 25 wickets before leaving to prepare for the World Cup.
